Coronavirus: FG Orders Civil Servants To Work From Home
As the federal government intensify its effort to control
the spread of coronavirus in the country, civil servants have been asked to
work from their homes as a preventative measure against the virus.
In a letter released by the Head of Service Folasade
Yemi-Esan, all civil servants from grade level one to 12 have been asked to
work from home with effect from Tuesday March 24 til further notice. Meanwhile senior
civil servants were expected to go to work, although they were asked to limit
their visitors.
According to Yemi-Esan, the Head of Service, the FG is worried
about the welfare and safety of all public servants just as it was about other
Nigerians.
The letter reads in part that:
“All public servants are, therefore, strongly advised to follow the measures being put in place by government to curtail the spread of the pandemic.
“As a further step to check the spread of COVID-19, all non-essential public servants on grade level 12 and below are to work from home with effect from Tuesday 24th March, 2020 until further notice.”
