Coronavirus: UN Postpones Nuclear Weapons Conference
The 191 parties to the Nuclear Non-proliferation agreement
have concluded to postpone a conference
to re-examine its implementation due to the coronavirus outbreak, reported by
the Associated Press news agency.
The agreement is considered the foundation of global efforts
to curb the spread of nuclear weapons, and the parties’ holds a major
conference every five years to discuss how it is working. The meeting had been
scheduled to hold for April 27-May 22 at the United Nations headquarters in New
York.
