IMF, World Bank Call For Suspension Of Debt Payments By Poorest Nations
The International Monetary Fund and World Bank has today Wednesday
25th March, 2020, called on the government to put a hold to depth payments from
the world’s poorest nations so that they can be able to fight against the
coronavirus with what they have.
IMF and the World Bank group believes that it is important
at this point in time to provide sense of relief to developing countries. The Washington-based
development lenders made this known in a joint statement.
This decision was made with countries that qualify for the
most generous assistance from the IDA through-out the world’s population living
in abject poverty.
