King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Shuts Down Riyadh, Mecca, and Medina
King Salman Bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia has just forbidden
residents from entering or leaving Riyadh, Mecca and Medina, which is the
Kingdom’s three major cities, as from tomorrow, as part of measures to curb the
spread of coronavirus.
Saudi Arabia’s total number of infections was 767 on
Tuesday, 24th March 2020, according to the health ministry. There has
been 205 new cases.
The Kingdom had confirmed its first coronavirus death on
Tuesday. The new coronavirus prevention measures which was approved by King
Salman also restricts residents in the Kingdom’s 13 regions from travelling
between different areas.
Also added is that, the newly imposed curfew will commence
at 3 p.m. instead of 7 p.m. in Riyadh, Mecca and Medina from Thursday.
Curfew exemptions apply only to those in essential public
and private sectors such as security, military and media. The curfew has also
excluded those who work in health services.
