Two Suspected Robbers Burnt to Death in Jos
Two (2) young men who were suspected to be robbers were burnt
to death on Friday 27th March 2020, by a mass in Farin-Gada
Community, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau state.
We gathered that the residents of the zone woke up to the leftovers
of the two victims at the ECWA Staff junction with portions of their bodies
burnt already.
A tricycle rider, Mr John David, told reached us on Friday
that the incident caused tension in the community.
Mr David said,
“I was at work in the morning when I saw some people gathering at the ECWA staff junction. On getting to the place, I saw two young men lying on the ground dead. Parts of their heads and necks were burnt. When I enquired what happened, people said they were thieves. But nobody could tell what they stole or the people who set them ablaze.”
Another occupier by name, Chuwang Paul, made us know that the incident
was weird, adding that some policemen late came to remove the corpses of the
two men.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ubah Ogaba, who
said that the police had begun investigation to unravel those behind the
killings of the two men.
He said,
“They (victims) were suspected cultists and robbers that specialised in phone snatching. They were mobbed and killed. Police are on the matter to unravel those involved in the killings.”
