ASEAN has 43,200 cases of COVID-19, more than 1,500 deaths


Updated on the Worldometers.info statistics page, by the end of April 29, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) recorded 43,239 cases of acute respiratory infections COVID-19, including 1,517 deaths.

In the past 24 hours alone, Singapore is still the country with the highest number of COVID-19 cases with 690 new infections. The country also has the highest number of cases in Southeast Asia.

The largest chain of infection in Singapore remains the S11 dormitory in Punggol, where on April 26 confirmed 2,275 positive cases of SARS-CoV-2 virus, accounting for 16% of the country's total.

Behind Singapore in terms of COVID-19 cases are Indonesia (9,771 cases) and the Philippines (8,212 cases). Lao PDR and Timor-Leste had the lowest number of COVID-19 cases, with 19 and 24 cases, respectively.

Meanwhile, Vietnam, Cambodia and Brunei have not recorded any cases in the last 24 hours. Cases in these 4 countries remain below 300.

Worldwide, 3,216,353 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed. The number of deaths reached 227,894 and 999,217 patients recovered.
