China Says It Has No Interest In Meddling In US Election
China has just revealed that it has no interest in
interfering in the US presidential elections, this statement was released on
Thursday, after US President, Donald Trump mentioned that he believes Beijing
would try to make him lose his re-election.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said at a
daily briefing that:
“The U.S. presidential election is an internal affair, we have no interest in interfering in it. We hope the people of the US will not drag China into its election politics.”
Meanwhile President Donald Trump on Wednesday, insisted that
China will do anything they can to make sure he loses the race of being
re-elected into office.
He also added that he believes Beijing wants his opponent,
Former Vice President Joe Biden to win the election so as to ease the pressure
of President Donald Trump on China over trade and other important issues.
He and other top officials have earlier blamed China for
COVID-19, the respiratory infection caused by the new coronavirus string.
Geng reiterated during the Thursday’s briefing to say that
China was a victim of the epidemic and not its accomplice. He also added that
the attempts by some politicians to shift the blame of how badly they were
handling the outbreak to Beijing will only expose other problems of the US, and
also specifically to the US he said:
“The U.S. should know this: the enemy is the virus, not China.”
