Covid-19: The number of infections in Singapore exceeded 11,000

On April 23, Singapore recorded 1,037 new corona virus infections, bringing the total number of cases to 11,178, of which 12 died. Among the new infections, most are migrant workers in dormitories. With the above figures, Singapore is currently the largest Covid-19 epidemic region in Southeast Asia.

As of April 22, approximately 2.51% of the 323,000 migrant workers living in dormitories were infected with nCoV. Most migrant workers infected with nCoV have mild symptoms and none of them have to be in intensive care. In Singapore, 21 dormitories were confirmed as isolated areas. Workers must be isolated in their rooms for 14 days.

Singapore's Ministry of Health also said that for community infections, the average daily increase has decreased from 36 to 25, and cases of unexplained cases have also decreased from 21 to 17 in the past week. Currently, about 4,234 patients remain in the hospital, with 25 patients in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
