COVID-19: Ebonyi To Commence Production Of Ventilators

Ebonyi state government has just revealed its plans to begin the production of ventilators and electric tricycles to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

The ventilators to be produced will be deployed to the state isolation centers while tricycles will also be deployed to ease transport challenges that is affecting the state after the ban on commercial motorcycles.

The Special Assistant to Governor on Vocational college, Adaeze Nwaji stated that this when a group, the Rachel Umahi Women against COVID-19′ visited the College located at the Centenary City, Abakaliki, the state capital.

She said this decision to commence the production of ventilators was taken to help avert delay in the battle against the spread of the virus. She however, noted that the governor has instructed the department of Automobile and foundry of the college to do everything they can to ensure the plans are actualized within the shortest period.

She further stated that the college has equally started producing thousands of electric tricycles to mitigate the effect of the lack of transportation in the state, especially amid the ban on the operation of Okada riders in the state.
