Ekiti Orders Immediate 50% Salary Slash For All Political Appointees

The Governor of Ekiti State, Governor Kayode Fayemi, has just ordered for the salaries of all political appointees in the state to be slashed by 50% with immediate effect.

This information was confirmed and revealed to the public by Muyiwa Olumilua, The Commissioner for Information and Values Orientation in the state, on Tuesday.

He clarified that this order will also affect the governor himself as well as his deputy, all commissioners and all political appointees. He also added that this new decision was due to the impact the COVID-19 has effected on the state.

This has now made the governor the second governor after Governor Nasir El-rufai of Kaduna state to give the order of a 50% slash of salaries of all political appointees.
