I’m Not An NCDC Ambassador, I Didn’t Replace Anyone – Toyin Abraham

Nollywood actress and movie producer, Toyin Abraham, has just discredited reports that she is now the new ambassador for the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on the coronavirus pandemic.

NCDC on Thursday shared a video of Toyin Abraham sensitizing the general public on the importance of taking the safety tips seriously to avoid contracting the virus.

After this video there has been an uproar on social media with most saying the agency had indirectly revealed the movie star to the public as its ambassador and this reports claims that she is replacing Actress Funke Akindele even though the agency had announced that it had never engaged the Jenifa’s Diary Producer.

On Friday, reacting to the gossips on social media, Toyin Abraham posted a video message on her social media handle noting that the video released was just her way of showing support to the ongoing campaign against the spread of the pandemic in the country.

She said in her post that it was recently brought to her knowledge that blogs were reporting that she was now the NCDC ambassador which now implies that she was used to replace her senior colleague, she said the gossips had necessitated her that she speaks up and tell the truth herself.

She also added that she is not an ambassador of NCDC neither does she like the notion of her taking advantage of the bad situation in the country to enrich herself. She said she had only appeared in the video campaign against the pandemic to support the campaign.
