Shearer: 'Man Utd Benefits From Pogba's Absence'

Former striker Alan Shearer praised coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for his decision to buy Bruno Fernandes in place of Paul Pogba.
With Pogba injured, it is no coincidence that Man Utd shows some real improvement before the tournaments are postponed. Pogba has barely played since the beginning of the season and that probably positively influenced Solskjaer's decision, "Shearer emphasized.
Due to Pogba's long-term leave, coach Solskjaer decided to buy Bruno Fernandes in January 2020. This was a successful "gamble" when the Portuguese star quickly shone. With three goals and four passing passes in nine appearances, Fernandes was the best player in English football in the second leg.

Pogba still has a one-year contract with Man Utd. If the French midfielder does not have much desire to contribute, "Reds" should be sold in the next transfer window.

In the case of selling French midfielder, Man Utd will probably suffer financially. Due to  Covid-19 , player prices are on a downward trend . Man Utd will hardly sell for $ 220 million as they shouted to Real last year.

If Pogba cannot be sold next time, Man Utd is not afraid of losing money from next summer. The current contract has a one-year extension clause, until summer 2022, and "Reds" may activate.
"What happens with Paul Pogba will be interesting. Will he try to play, or with one year left on his contract, will Man Utd try to sell him? Solskjaer just wants to keep the players who want to stick and let fair, he spoke directly to Pogba and representative Mino Raiola. I guess Solskjaer and the club have made a decision. They cannot leave a player with a year contract and don't know what they want to do, "Shearer commented.
