Unauthorised Use Of Picture On Campaign Billboard: Court Orders Atiku, Saraki To Pay N5m Damages To Trader

Lauretta Onochie, an aide to the President, President Muhammadu Buhari on social media, mocked the PDP’s 2019 Presidential candidate and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar and Bukola Saraki over the judgment of a Federal High Court in Lagos state, on a lawsuit that was filled against them by a trader.

The Lagos-based trader, Amudat Adeleke, had filed a lawsuit against the former President of the Senate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, for unauthorized use of her picture on their campaign billboards.

The former President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki was reportedly the Director-General of the Atiku Abubakar’s Campaign Organization for the 2019 general election.
Also added to the suit FHC/L/CS/193/19 is the People’s Democratic Party; Atiku Abubakar, who was the party’s Presidential flag bearer; and his running mate, Peter Obi.

The trader Amudat Adeleke has claimed that her image was on display in very strategic places in Lagos state such places includes Onikan, Costain, Apongbon, Airport Road, WAEC in Yaba, Illupeju, and Ikorodu.

However, Lauretta Onochie the aid to the President, on Tuesday night stated that a Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered for Atiku Abubakar and Bukola Saraki to pay 5m damages to the said Lagos-based trader.
