A press freedom organization has just released claims that 55 journalists have according to their reports died worldwide from Coronavirus within the past two months.

The Press Emblem Campaign (PEC), revealed this information in a statement ahead of the World Press Freedom Day which is on Sunday 3rd May, 2020.

This organization had grieved the fact that the press lack proper protection for covering themselves during this pandemic and has noted that so many of them were putting their lives in danger in order to cover situation reports.

PEC said that it has recorded 55 deaths of media workers since March 1st  from COVID-19 across 23 countries, although it has not been clarified if the said workers were infected while working.
