Borno State Suspends Lockdown, Orders Mosques, Churches To Reopen

The Borno State Government has just reportedly suspended their lockdown which was imposed on non-essential movement in the state, after there has been a significant progress recorded in the state in the fight against the pandemic in Borno state.

The Deputy Governor of the state, Alhaji Umar Kadafur and the Chairman of the state’s task force on COVID-19 confirmed this information to the press on Wednesday in Maiduguri.

The deputy governor had attributed the success of the reports on COVID-19 in the state to the Strict measures that was imposed to curb the spread of the virus in the state and it has yielded a very good result.

He also mentioned that the suspension of the lockdown was ordered in order to study the situation also noting that the government of the state will not hesitate to revert the status of the order if the pandemic should escalate.

He also ordered for the use of Face Mask in all public places in the state, he also ordered all government officials, religious leaders, traditional ruler’s community and opinion leaders to strictly adhere to the already imposed order for social distancing in all worship and social gatherings in the state.
