Reuters reported that the
Burundi government today confirmed the Foreign Ministry's May 12 letter to the
top representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) responsible for
handling Covid-19 in the country, Dr. Walter Kazadi Mulombo and three other
officials demanded that these people leave Burundi before May 15.
The letter stated that WHO
officials were "not welcome" in Burundi, but did not elaborate.
An unnamed official told
AFP that Health Minister Burundi accused four WHO officials of taking
"unacceptable intervention in the way the country responds to the corona
virus".
