COVID-19 will disappear without a vaccine – President Donald Trump
Speaking on May 9, US President Donald Trump said
that the SARS-CoV-2 virus that caused the COVID-19 pandemic would disappear
without a vaccine.
According to Trump, there will be an outbreak in the
fall, but eventually the virus will disappear.
"There are some viruses or the flu has a vaccine and some never find the vaccine. And they have disappeared. They never show up again. They will die, like other things."
The Washington Post quoted. Mr. Trump's words.
The statement of the US leader was made when the press
secretary of Vice President Mike Pence had COVID-19 on 8/5. One day
earlier, a man who served exclusively for President Donald Trump was also
infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Mr. Trump's recent comments are also the opposite of what he
shared on Fox News. Last week, the US leader confirmed that the
country is in need of a vaccine against COVID-19.
"I want it, I need the vaccine. We need the vaccine, this country needs the vaccine. And you will have it by the end of the year. I am sure that is the case."
As of May 10 morning, the US recorded 1,343,134 people
infected with COVID-10, of which 79,940 died. With these numbers, the US
continues to be the country most affected by the pandemic.
