Governor Wike Supervises Demolition Of Two Hotels For Violating Lockdown Rules (photos)
Governor of Rivers State, Governor Nyesom Wike on Sunday
April 10th, personally supervised the pulling down of two hotels in Rivers
State for violating the lock down order that was imposed on the state in order
to help curb the spread of the virus.
Governor Nyesom Wike, last week when he imposed the lockdown
order and curfew in the mentioned local government; Obio-Akpo local government
areas, he had also vowed to demolish any hotel that is found operating during
this lockdown and any other businesses that are open for business.
Two hotels in the state, the Prodest Hotel and Edemeteh
hotel, Onne were both found guilty of violating the lockdown order as they had opened
for business.
Governor Wike had surprised the residents of the state this
afternoon as he kept his promise and supervised the demolition of the two
hotels with a Bulldozer.
While supervising the process he dismissed the rumors
that his actions had a political undertone.
He said that the Eleme hotel belonged to a PDP member and if
he can pull down the hotel of a PDP member, then any other person or business
will face the same fate whether PDP or not.
According to records, Rivers state has recorded a total of
21 cases.
