JUST IN: The US Democratic Party is campaigning for Michelle Obama to be the Vice President candidate
Members of the Democratic
Party are launching a campaign to "recruit" Michelle Obama, the
former First Lady of the United States as vice president candidate and will
accompany Democratic candidate Joe Biden in the race for the White House.
In order to
"recruit" Michelle Obama, the former US First Lady as vice
presidential candidate, recently, a new Committee has been set up and named
"Michelle Obama Draft Committee" with the purpose of :
"supporting the necessary facility support for potential candidate Michelle Obama and help attract media attention for a vice presidential candidate capable of beating Donald Trump. ”
Twenty-seven-year-old Joe
Biden has said twice in recent weeks that he wants Mrs. Obama to be vice
president if he is elected president of the United States, but he is not sure
whether Mrs. Obama is interested in the matter. or not.
Mr. Clyde Lederman, campaign director of the Draft Committee of Michelle Obama said that:
“Michelle Obama is the most trusted and beloved woman in America. She is considered to be politically superior in the election, and will be a great asset to the Democratic Party in this November election."
Earlier, at the end of
April, on CNN's "New Day", Jill Biden, Joe Biden's wife, said she
also wanted Mrs. Obama to participate in the campaign.
Lady Jill Biden said:
"I think she is politically compatible. She is very good at everything she does. That was amazing".
However, Valerie Jarrett, a
former senior adviser to former President Barack Obama, said that Michelle
Obama had never expressed an interest in running for the candidate and
"absolutely did not want that job".
In her memoirs
"Becoming", the former US first lady frankly said:
"I will speak frankly here: I have no intention of running for election."
Last
year, in an interview with TBS MC Conan O'Brien, Mrs. Obama once again denied
the possibility of running for president or any other position, explaining that
her time in the White House made her Unable to get a "normal" life.
Earlier, Mr Biden had
pledged to choose a woman to be the "deputy general" if he was
elected president of the United States. In a debate with rival Bernie
Sanders in March, he asserted:
"If I were elected president, I pledged to appoint a woman as vice president."
