Mr. Tedros will continue to "lead" the world against epidemics

World Health Organization (WHO) director-general, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said Tuesday that he will continue to lead the global battle against the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Reuters.

"We want to be more responsible than anyone."
Mr. Tedros said in an online meeting with the participation of 194 WHO members.
"We will continue to assume a strategic leadership role in coordinating global responses [for Covid-19]."
Tedros made this statement after President Trump announced on Monday that if the WHO did not make progress after 30 days, the United States would cut off all aid and consider withdrawing from the organization.

Mr. Trump has repeatedly criticized WHO's weakness and manifestations of China bias during the Covid-19 pandemic.
