Russian Culture Minister Test Positive To COVID-19
TASS news agency (Russia) quoted
information from the press secretary of Russian Culture Minister Olga
Lyubimova, said that Lyubimova was confirmed positive for corona virus of the
new strain that causes COVID-19.
According
to this notice, Minister Lyubimova has mild symptoms. Along with
self-isolation at home, she still works remotely, taking part in online
meetings.
Ms.
Lyubimova is the 3rd member of the Russian Cabinet positive for COVID-19. Earlier,
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Russian Minister of Construction
and Housing Vladimir Yakushev were also confirmed to be infected.
By the afternoon of 6/5, Russia recorded an additional 10,559
cases of COVID-19, bringing the number of SARS-CoV-2 virus infections in the
country to 165,929 cases. Thus, Russia is currently the country with the
highest number of COVID-19 cases in the world.
On
May 6 (local time), Russian President Vladimir Putin chaired a government
meeting to discuss the gradual removal of restrictive measures in stages, after
the end of the working holiday currently on 11/5.
According
to virus researcher Feliks Ershov of the Academy of Sciences, the scenario of
loosening Russian restrictions will be different from that in Italy or China
because of its vast territorial characteristics as well as differences in
confidentiality, population and health proficiency.
