Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, explains why he chose Nigeria over Germany
Super Eagles goalkeeper,
Maduka Okoye, has just revealed the reason why he decided to commit his
international future to Nigeria instead of Germany his country of birth.
Maduka Okoye who is qualified
to play for Germany as well as for Nigeria and had not been to Nigeria, where
his father comes from, for 14 years before his invitation to the Super Eagles
for last November's 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches which was against
Benin and Lesotho.

Rohr afforded him the opportunity to make his international unveiling when he
had played for 27 minutes in the Nigeria’s 1-1 draw with Brazil in Singapore on
October 13th 2019, a memory to which he had tattooed on his hand
because of his love for his country Nigeria.
The Super Eagles Goal keeper
who is 2o years old revealing why he choose Nigeria said that it was simply
because of the Love he has for Nigeria and the way he grew up, that it was all
an easy decision for him.
He added that it has always
been his dream to play for his Homeland and the chance finally came to him and
he wasted no time in accepting it. He added that he didn’t want to waste any
second in accepting the request.
He also said that he wants
to follow the footsteps of the former Super Eagles Goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama
who he admires so much, while also admiring the German-Born player Leon Balogun
for accepting him under his care when he earned and accepted his maiden call up
for a friendly match against Ukraine last September.
