The 2020 US Presidential Election May Be Delayed

Assistant and also the son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, Jared Kushner.

Jared Kushner, an assistant and son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, recently said he could not guarantee the country's presidential election would take place as scheduled in November due to the pandemic.

The statement was made when Mr. Kushner told Time magazine whether he could confirm the election would go according to plan if a second wave of COVID-19 outbreaks appeared.

He said that:
"I'm not sure I can commit one way or another, but right now it's still the plan. Hopefully by September, October and November we have done enough work with challenges and with all the other things we are trying to do to prevent another large-scale outbreak in the future that will cause us to close again."
This year's presidential elections are scheduled to take place on November 3. By law, the White House has no right to change.

However, Mr. Kushner's comments have raised concerns, as President Donald Trump and Democratic rival Joe Biden are entering the last 6 months of the campaign.

According to the latest poll results, Mr. Joe Biden is "ahead" of the opponent about 6-9 points. However, this does not mean that this Democratic candidate will win the final victory.
