The United States Predicts 3,000 Deaths A Day From COVID-19
According to the New York Times , data and
forecast models of US President Donald Trump's administration show that the
number of deaths due to COVID-19 in the country will reach 3,000 cases per day
by 1/6. , nearly double the current level of 1,750 cases.
Specifically, according to the model of data collected from the
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the number of new cases detected
daily is expected to increase to 200,000 cases, much higher than the figure of
25,000 cases / day.
Meanwhile, the Institute of Metrics and Health Assessment at the
University of Washington on May 4 estimated that the total number of corona
virus deaths in the US would increase to 135,000 by the beginning of August,
more than double the forecast. This unit was announced on April 17.
Over the weekend, in an interview with Fox News ,
President Trump admitted that the number of deaths in the US could reach
100,000, double the reports he received just two weeks earlier.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention does not
immediately respond to requests for comment. The highest number of new
cases per day in the US so far was 30,000 in late April while the number of
deaths ranged from 1,500 to 2,000 a day.
As of the evening of 4/5 (local time), the US has recorded 1.2
million cases and more than 69,300 people died from COVID-19.
