The US Added $ 128 Million For Global Medical Assistance Against COVID-19


According to US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, the country has added $128 million to global humanitarian and medical assistance to combat COVID-19.

VNA quoted US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on May 6, saying the US has added $ 128 million to global humanitarian and medical assistance to combat COVID-19.

In a statement, Pompeo said:
"Today, the United States continues to show its global leadership in the COVID-19 pandemic with additional global humanitarian and medical assistance worth 128 million USD."
According to the announcement, $ 128 million will include a budget to support the prevention, detection and control of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and humanitarian assistance to victims and migrants, helping to prevent spread of the COVID-19 epidemic among these subjects.

Thus, up to now, the total amount of US commitment to support health, humanitarian and global economic support for more than 120 countries has reached USD 900 million.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo affirmed that the US government and non-governmental organizations have provided about $6.5 billion in support and donations to the COVID-19 epidemic prevention effort worldwide.
