The US Has Tested At Least 14 Types Of Vaccines Against SARS-CoV-2 Virus


US health officials say at least 14 types of SARS-CoV-2 vaccines are currently being tested. The United States continues to be the region with the highest number of infections and deaths in the world, with more than 67,000 deaths and more than 1.1 million infections.

According to information on Vietnam News Agency , 14 types of vaccine to prevent SARS-CoV-2 virus are being prepared under the "Operation Warp Speed" program of the President Donald Trump administration.

Over the next two weeks, these 14 vaccines will undergo further testing. US health officials expect about six to eight of which will be selected for the next round of clinical trials. The ultimate goal is to have 3 or 4 vaccines in the final testing loop before being launched in early 2021.

According to health officials, although there is no guarantee that any of the 14 vaccines will be selected for the final round, they are optimistic that there is a reasonable probability that one or Many vaccines will give good results. After finding an effective vaccine, US researchers and health officials will work hard to quickly manufacture and produce the vaccine for more than 300 million people in the country.

New York was the most heavily affected state from Covid-19 with 319,213 cases. The state recorded an additional 299 deaths, bringing the total number of deaths to 24,368. Gov. Andrew Cuomo said New York state will continue to require people to wear masks in public places where they cannot make "community isolation".

About half of the states in the US have loosened measures to prevent the disease from spreading from May 1, when the number of new cases began to decline or stabilize. The state of Texas allows businesses to reopen in parts, retail stores and shopping malls maintain 25% of capacity. In Georgia, nearly every business has resumed operations.
