US Vows To Monitor Spending Of $32.8m COVID-19 Support Given To Nigeria
The United States of
America has just spent $32.8m in order to support Nigeria’s fight against the
COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria and has also vouched to monitor the way the money
is been utilized.
US Ambassador to Nigeria,
Mary Beth Leonard confirmed this while also saying that the country has put in
place ways of monitoring and also ensuring that the money is well utilized and
also to avoid diversion of this funds.
The Ambassador had also
revealed that there was nothing unusual in the evacuation of American Citizens
from Nigeria as they want to reunite with their families after having exhausted
their short stay in Nigeria.
The Ambassador also
expressed satisfaction to the response of the Federal Government of Nigeria on
their fight against the virus and the pandemic and had also assured that more
financial technical support would be given to the country to continue to
support the fight.
