US Warships, Drills In The South China Sea

The US Navy has just sent two warships to patrol near the tensions between China and Malaysia in the South China Sea. USNI News website - USNI quoted US Navy officials as saying on 8/5, according to RFA.

This is the second time in a month, the US sent warships to the South China Sea area, challenging China.

In a related development, the US 7 Fleet yesterday announced that three submarines with floating ships and aircraft had joint exercises from May 2 to 8 in the Philippine Sea, according to Thanh Nien.

The U.S. Navy's fleet of submarine exercises and deployment demonstrates that the military is still in a state of readiness under all circumstances, despite the recent Covid-19 pandemic that caused many sailors aboard the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt to get infected with the virus.
