USA: 3 Children Died With Strange Symptoms Associated With COVID-19
According to New York
governor Andrew Cuomo, three children in the state died after symptoms of a new
infection believed to be associated with COVID-19.
Governor Andrew Cuomo on
9/5 expressed concern about the new symptoms thought to be related to COVID-19 similar
to Kawasaki disease and toxic shock, leading to aneurysms and damage to the
heart.
Cuomo said three children,
including a 5-year-old child, died from the new symptoms. State health
officials are monitoring 73 similar cases.
Currently, scientists are
seeking to determine whether these new symptoms are related to
COVID-19. Not all children who have these symptoms test positive for the
virus.
Reportedly, three
patients died above among 15 children admitted to hospital in New
York, USA with strange symptoms and health officials were informed on 4/5.
According to the notice,
most 15 children have a fever, some with a rash, diarrhea, or
vomiting. Since admission, 5 have had mechanical ventilation and most need
blood pressure support. Most of these cases have been or are currently
infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
New York state health Chief
Howard Zucker said experts are arguing that this is a rare complication in
pediatric patients and they believe it may be related to COVID-19.
In recent weeks, a number
of similar European cases have been discovered, according to World Health
Organization (WHO) scientist Maria Van Kerkhove.
