The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control said that this drug the Hydroxychloroquine has been very effective in treating patients of COVID-19 in Nigeria especially those at the early stage of the infection.

During the Press briefing by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 on May 27th, he said that the WHO only provides guidance and guidelines and does not dictate what any country should do because each country have its own peculiarities.
He added that:
“So we’re still looking at the issues of drugs; we are still looking at the issues of vaccine as well, also in the areas of research.”
