104 Cases Of COVID-19 Confirmed In A Company In Ogun State |
104 cases of COVID-19 has
just been discovered in a company in the Sagamu area of Ogun state. This information
was confirmed by the Ogun state government.
Ogun state had recorded 108
new cases of COVID-19 yesterday the 10th of June, 2020 which is the
highest number of cases that has been confirmed in the state since the first
day it recorded its index case in February 2020.
The Ogun state commissioner
of health, Dr. Tomi Coker had also linked this rise in cases to an increase in
population sampling and testing capacity.
Dr. Tomi Coker called for
calm among the residents of the state as the increase in cases is as a result
of increased number of tests as it has increased it to 600 test daily. She also
revealed that most of the positive cases in the state were asymptomatic.
The commissioner also
revealed that out of the 108 new cases 104 were all from a particular company in
Sagamu and they were all asymptomatic. Also noting that 3 of the cases were
from Abeokuta while the remaining 1 was from Yewa South.
Adding that the state has a
record of low mortality and that many of the cases confirmed in the state are
recovering as 202 patients has been discharged already which is almost half of
the total cases which was confirmed in the state so far.
