Ebonyi State Government Shuts Down Offices After Some Members Of The Cabinet Test Positive For Coronavirus

The governor of Ebonyi
state, Governor David Umahi has just ordered for the shut-down of all
government offices in the state after some of the members of his cabinet tested
positive to the novel COVID-19.
In a statement that was
released by the state’s Commissioner of information and State Orientation, Orji
Uchenna Orji, the governor ordered for the immediate shut-down and decontamination
of all the offices with a specific directive that all workers in the state
Ministry of Finance and Budget to be tested immediately of the virus within the
next 7 days.
However the governor did
not give the names of those that had tested positive to the virus, but
described the situation as a very disturbing one. According to the statement,
the government offices in the state will be shut-down for decontamination starting
Thursday June 4th to Wednesday June 10th.
The governor however
advises all government officials from the two Ministries aforementioned to all
go into self-isolation. He noted in the statement that all site operations
shall remain open but must be under strict observance for the COVID-19
protocol.
