Full Autopsy Report Reveals George Floyd Tested Positive For Coronavirus
A 20-page autopsy
report which was released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office has just
shown that George Floyd who died after some Minneapolis police officers
knelt on his neck, has tested positive for COVID-19 in April.
The autopsy report
was done with the permission of his family and it was released after the
Coroner’s office released a summary on the findings which had confirmed that
Floyd had a heart attack after being restrained by officers and his death has
now been classified as a homicide.
TMZ reported that
the Coroner said;
"Positivity for 2019-nCoV can persist for weeks after the onset and resolution of clinical disease, the autopsy result most likely reflects asymptomatic but persistent PCR positivity from previous infection."
This now means that George
Floyd was likely walking around without issues or any active symptoms even with
the virus in his system. A final report from Hennepin on Wednesday reported
that Floyd had no injuries of anterior muscles of neck or any laryngeal
structures.
Minnesota’s Attorney
General, Ellison on Wednesday, June 3rd had upgraded charges against
the ex-cop that knelt on George Floyd’s neck to a 2nd degree murder
case and had also charged the other three officers that were with him with
aiding and abetting.
