The new Honor 9A has good
specifications and an affordable price, with gifts and promotions, but without
the services of Google.
The US government's
veto of Huawei, which prevents it from including US components or software
in its terminals, has also affected Honor, one of its most popular
brands.Â
Aimed at a young audience, and with devices that usually combine
good specifications with excellent prices, Honor is trying to alleviate
the absence of Google services (which prevents its terminals from having
PlayStore or some of its most popular apps) with a series of promotions and
advantages difficult to match.
Along these lines, Honor
has just presented its new 9A, a surprising terminal that, for less
than 200 euros, offers, among other things, a triple rear camera and a 5,000
milliamp battery.
But not only that. If
the terminal is purchased between July 1 and 5, a discount of 30 euros will
be applied to its official price of 159 euros. And buyers, in
addition, will take home, completely free, the Honor AM115 headphones, the
best of the firm.Â
If the Honor 9A is purchased after that date, the price
will be 159 euros and you can choose, as a gift, between an Honor
Band 5 bracelet, different types of headphones or a mini speaker.
But let's take a look at
the benefits of Honor's new "toy".
The large battery, one of
its main qualities, allows you to use the phone for two full days without
going through the charger. In fact, it allows the playback of up to 35
hours of video in a row, or 37 hours of music, or 33 hours of calls.Â
That,
however, has not prevented us from looking at a device that weighs just
185 g and is 9.04 mm thick. The triple rear camera, integrated into a
square module, hardly protrudes from the housing (something that other much
more expensive phones do not achieve) and offers excellent features that we
will see shortly.
The screen of 6.3
inches and HD resolution (1600 x 720 pixels, with a density of
276 dpi), is capable of displaying up to 16.7 million colors and has
automatic adjustment of color temperature.
The Honor 9A mounts
an eight-core MediaTek Helio P22 processor, backed by 3 GB of
RAM. A performance, then, that without being exaggerated, it is enough to
fluidly move any application or game. The storage capacity, perhaps
somewhat scarce, is 64 GB, although it is possible to expand it to 512 GB by
adding an external memory micro SD card.
As for photography, the
Honor 9A has a triple rear camera, with a 13-megapixel main sensor, a
5-megapixel ultra-wide angle with up to 120-degree vision and a depth sensor
(for defocusing in portrait mode) of 2 megapixels. The front camera, which
is located under a small hole in the screen, is 8 megapixels.Â
In general,
it is a bet on insurance, without excessive complications and that will allow
users to take more than decent photos with the mobile.
The speakers, according to
the company, offer good sound and excellent bass performance. The device
also incorporates a 3.5 mm mini jack input for external headphones. It
will arrive in two colors, Midnight Black and Phantom Blue.
As for the software, as mentioned,
the Honor 9A does not include Google services , so it will not be
possible to access its application store or download the most popular apps, but
it does have the Huawei App installed Gallery, which has already managed to
include such popular apps as WhatsApp or TikTok.Â
The phone has the Magic
UI 3.1 personalization layer, developed by Huawei and included in all its
terminals.
