JUST IN: Delta loses electoral commission member

The Delta State Local Government Service Commission has just lost a member, identified as Hon. (Mrs.) Catherine Ilolo, she died at the age of 60.

According to reports she had passed away on Monday night, 22nd June, 2020 at an undisclosed hospital in Oleh Isoko South Council area of Delta State.

She is a native of Oleh community. The cause of her death is still unclear as at the time of writing this report, although, a family source claimed that she had complained of some sort of discomfort during the weekend after she had returned from Asaba.

According to the source the deceased had gone to the hospital with her husband on Monday where she died later that night.
She was appointed by the Governor of Delta state, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa along with four others in July 2019 to represent the Delta South council in the commission.

She is the first woman to emerge as a lawmaker in the Isoko South constituency 1 at the Delta state house of Assembly in 1991.

Although her tenure was cut short by the then military government that emerged.

She was among the Isoko South Local government committee that had supervised the distribution of the COVID-19 palliatives to some vulnerable citizens in the council area in April.

According to records her death is coming in just 2 weeks after the death of Honorable Joyce Overah, a commissioner in the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), who had passed away too after a brief illness.
