New Zealand has declared victory over the Covid-19 pandemic and has removed measures for social restraint after the last Covid-19 case in the hospital recovered.

On the morning of June 8, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said that the New Zealand government would lift the social order after the country was free of new cases of Covid-19 and shifted the national level to 1.

The government said it would remove social distal measures and community activities that could take place normally without any controls or restrictions.

However, the entry restrictions imposed on foreign nationals have been kept in place to prevent the spread of infection from outside again.

According to New Zealand health authorities, there have been no new cases of Covid-19 infection since 17 days since the last Covid-19 case in the hospital recovered.

"We are confident that we have eliminated the source of New Zealand's corona virus infection now, and the process is a persistent effort."
Said Prime Minister Ardern.
“Maybe we will detect new cases again, but this is not a sign of failure, but only the harsh reality of this pandemic. If that happens, we are sure New Zealand will be ready to fight.”
The New Zealand Government removed all measures to control community events, such as sports stadiums that could reopen without having to comply with social divestment measures.

Experts say there are many factors that helped the nation of 5 million win the Covid-19 pandemic. New Zealand had quickly taken strict measures to close the border after witnessing the serious damage caused by the virus in other countries.

New Zealand has recorded 1,154 cases of Covid - 19 with 22 deaths from disease.
