President Muhammadu Buhari
To celebrate Nigeria’s
Democracy Day, the president of Nigeria, President Muhammdu Buhari will broadcast
to the nation on Friday, June 12, 2020, at 7am.
This information was
revealed through a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media
and Publicity, Femi Adesina, he has asked Radio stations, Television and all
other electronic media outlets to connect to the Network Service of the NTA and
its radio for the broadcast.
The Nigeria’s Democracy Day
was originally celebrated evey 29th of May, this day marked the day
Nigeria returned to democratic rule in 1999.
Nevertheless in 2019, President
Muhammadu Buhari changed the date of the democracy day from May 29 to June 12
in honor of the June 12, 1993 Presidential election winner, who had died in
prison, Moshood Abiola.
