Spain Honors Barcelona Legend Iniesta With a Naked Statue For 2010 World Cup Winning Goal (Photos)
Spain has just marked the
10th anniversary of their 2010 victory over Netherlands in FIFA World Cup which
was held in South Africa.
The Barcelona legend,
Iniesta, who is now playing in Japan, was the hero that night in Johannesburg
as he scored four minutes to the end of the extra-time to secure Spain's World
Cup.
His hometown Albacete have
now honored their most famous son with a naked statue of him showing a mirror
image of his position as he scored the winning goal that night.
The unveiling of the statue
was supposed to be celebrated in Albacete on the 10th of July but
this has been delayed to next year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
