Mohammed Umar To Take Over As Acting EFCC Chairman

After the suspension of Ibrahim Magu who is currently being investigated over allegations of Fraud, Mohammed Umar has been reported to have taken over as the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC.

Before he was appointed to take over as the acting chairman of the commission, he was the head of operations at the commission and also the second most senior operative at the commission.

An investigation was recently launched to investigate into the activities of the suspended chairman, after the minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami wrote a letter to the President of Nigeria requesting that he should be removed from office on bases of fraud, while also accusing him of diverging recovered funds.
