New Details About Twitter Attack Revealed

Twitter shared new information about the biggest cyber-attack in its history. According to the statement, the data of some hijacked accounts were copied.

Twitter, one of the largest social media platforms in the world, experienced the biggest cyber-attack on the night of July 15 and many accounts were seized.

Alongside Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, Tesla CEO Elon Musk , Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, entertainer Kanye West and former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg; The accounts of companies like Apple and Uber were compromised and fraud tweets were posted.

In many of the messages sent, the BTC wallet address was shared and the hackers who wanted to donate to this account managed to collect 100 thousand dollars in a short time.

A statement was made from the company on the capture of accounts of famous names and senior politicians on Twitter.

Accordingly, 130 accounts were targeted and 45 accounts' passwords were changed in the cyber-attack on Twitter. It was determined that the private data of the eight accounts seized in the attack were downloaded.

It was also noted that the hackers were trying to sell some accounts, and the accounts whose private data were downloaded were not "approved" ie "blue ticked" accounts.

This; it means that data from the accounts of celebrities such as former US President Barack Obama, Elon Musk, Kanye West and Bill Gates has not been downloaded.

The data downloaded by hackers are said to include data such as private messages, videos, photos, phone book and location information.

It was stated that some company employees were persuaded by hackers to take some actions, thereby succeeding in entering the internal systems of the site.

The American New York Times newspaper suggested that hackers captured information from a share in the company's private messaging app.
