Russia Announces Completion Of Trials Of New COVID-19 Vaccine Human Trials

Russian government has just announced it has completed the trials of a new Coronavirus vaccine on humans, also adding that tested patients that were used for the trials will be discharged very soon and that the vaccine will be available by August, 2020.

The Russian government had sponsored and permitted clinical trials of two potential COVID-19 vaccines. The first one which was developed by the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology had carried out their trial at the Burdenko Military Hospital, while the second one was given to the Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University to be tested on patients.

According to a news report from Russia, 20 persons had volunteered to be tested with the vaccine. After they were injected with the vaccine they were asked to stay quarantined in the hospital for 28 days. According to the reports it was showed that they had developed immunity to the virus. 

Although as at the time of filling this report the name of the drug has not been revealed yet, neither did the Russian government reveal when the commercial production or distribution of the vaccine will commence. 

The information of the completion of the human trials was confirmed by Elena Smolyarchuk the chief researcher of the Russian Center for Clinical Research on Medications at Sechenov University.

She revealed this information to TASS newswire on Monday July 13th while also revealing that the vaccine is safe according to the research file.
