Senator Matthew Urhoghide has just denied the allegation of receiving contracts from the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

The lawmaker which represents the Edo South Senatorial District who is among the lawmakers that were listed to be beneficiaries of the alleged contract racketeering, said that the Minister of Niger Delta Affaris, Godswill Akpabio, claims about him is not true and a plan to misinform the public and specifically his constituency.

He said on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Wednesday 29th July that the Minister of the Niger Delta Affairs claims were false and wicked lie, and believes that whatever mischief he wanted to perpetuate, through his explanations Nigerians will be able to read in between the lines.

He added that the Minister’s records are not even correct, stating that the contracts he had attracted to his constituency from NDDC are in excess of eleven, also noting that Godswill Akpabio does not know what is going on.

He also mentioned that out of 6 contracts that were mentioned by the minister, four of them are street light projects which are ongoing now as the contractors have not yet been paid a dime as mobilization.
