He confirmed his resignation in a statement in a special release by his special Assistant on Media, Allen Sowore.

In the statement he appreciated the national leadership and member of the party for their warm reception and acceptance in the short while he rejoined the party.

The present chairman of the PDP in Apoi Ward II of the Ese-Odo Local Government Area, Festus Oboro acknowledged receiving the resignation letter on the 9th of August, 2020.
