Russia officially Reveals vaccine COVID-19, preparing for mass production
On August 11 (in the
afternoon of the same day as Vietnam time), Russia officially
"released" the COVID-19 vaccine and is expected to soon
start vaccinating the entire population COVID-19.
The Tass news agency and
the Russian state media reported that on August 11, President Vladimir Putin
announced that the Russian Ministry of Health has officially licensed the
world's first vaccine to prevent epidemics. COVID-19 is caused by a
new strain of the Corona virus (SARS-CoV-2).
According to the source,
this is a vaccine developed by the Gamaleya Institute in Moscow with the
Russian Ministry of Defense. President Putin claims the vaccine has
received a license from the Russian Ministry of Health.
The Russian leader also
said that his daughter had become one of the first to be vaccinated. At
the same time, he expressed his hope that the general vaccination of
COVID-19 would be carried out soon.
Clinical trials have been
conducted since June 18 and all 38 volunteers showed immunity, a sign that the
vaccine is working, Interfax news agency said. The first group of
volunteers was discharged on July 15 and the second group on July 20.
Speaking at a government
meeting, President Putin asked Health Minister Mikhail Murashko to regularly
report information regarding this vaccine. The Russian leader praised all
those who worked hard during the study of the world's first COVID-19
vaccine.
"It is a very important step forward for the world.”
He said.
Speaking to the press,
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said that the new vaccine will
be administered to health workers from next September and that mass vaccination
of the public is likely to start from January 2021.
Meanwhile, the Sistema
group claims it can produce 1.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine per year and
the group will not have much trouble producing large-scale vaccines.
