The price of the Russia’s COVID-19 vaccine


The head of the Board of Directors of R-Pharm pharmaceutical company has just said that for every 2 doses of the Russian COVID-19 vaccine sold abroad will cost at least $10.

On the Rossya TV channel on the evening of August 12, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of R-Pharm Company, Mr. Alexey Repik, said that the export price of the vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 virus from Russia is at least 10 USD for 2 doses.

"At least the first shipment is likely to be quite expensive."

Repik said, although noting that vaccines will inevitably drop in price when the volume of production reaches the industrial scale is large enough.

Earlier, on August 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the first Russian COVID-19 vaccine has been registered as Sputnik V, and will be mass produced in the near future.

This vaccine is co-developed by the Gamaleya National Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology and Research Institute 48- Ministry of Defense of Russia.

"As far as I know, this morning for the first time in the world a registered COVID-19 vaccine. I know the vaccine is working well enough, it creates a stable immunity, and please repeat that it has passed all the tests."

Said Putin.

President Putin also announced that one of his daughters had been vaccinated with COVID-19 and is still feeling well. According to him, after the first injection his daughter's body temperature had risen to 38 degrees Celsius, and the next day it dropped to more than 37 degrees Celsius.

"After the second injection, my temperature just increased a little. Everything is fine, my baby is healthy, and the antibody level in the blood is high."

Putin said.

In another development, Russian media said that the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation's full-fledged representative in the Far East Federation, Yuri Trutnev tested positive for COVID-19.

Trutney's office said the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia will have a second test in the near future. The Deputy Prime Minister's business trip schedule will be adjusted after the test results are available.
