Apple Sues Epic Games For Breach Of Contract

Apple has filed a lawsuit against Epic Games for violating App Store rules.

Fortnite, one of the most popular battle royale games in the world, was recently removed from the App Store and Epic Games and Apple faced.

Epic Games added its own payment system to the game with the new update and offered purchases for the game at a more affordable price.

According to App Store rules, developers have to use Apple's in-app payment system in their mobile apps. Because Apple deducts up to 30 percent from these payment methods.



Epic Games added its own payment system to the game to avoid these interruptions. However, this violated the App Store rules and Fortnite was removed from the store.

Apple sued the company for damages due to Epic Games' violation of App Store rules. 

"Epic Games earns enormous revenue from the App Store, but doesn't want to pay anything in return." 

Apple said in a statement on the matter 

On the other hand, Epic Games filed a lawsuit against Apple, stating that Apple's interruption was unfair and that it left the developers in a difficult situation. In addition, Epic recently took Apple to court for closing its developer account.

The next hearing of the legal dispute between Apple and Epic is scheduled for September 28th.
