British Actress Diana Rigg Dies At 82

Famous British actress Diana Rigg known for her roles on stage and in film including The Avengers and Game of Thrones, passed away at the age of 82.

The news of Diana Rigg's death was provided by the actress's agency.

Diana Rigg, who starred in many productions, played as Emma Peel in The Avengers series, and Olenna Tyrell in Game of Thrones.

Speaking on her role in Game of Thrones last year, Rigg said:

"I love to play bad characters. They are much more interesting than good. There are some actors who don't like to act badly, they like to be liked. I like not to be liked." 
Born on July 20, 1938, British actress Diana Rigg started her professional acting career at the Caucasian Chalk Office.

Rigg received the British Imperial Medal in 1988, and the Tony Award for Best Actress in 1994.

The production that made Diana Rigg step into the world of celebrities was The Avengers series. Rigg has successfully portrayed the character of Emma Peel for 3 seasons in the series.

The British actress portrayed the role of Orona Tyrell in Game of Thrones. Rigg earned the BAFTA TV Award, one of the most prestigious awards in the television world, in 1990 for his role as mother-in-law in the TV series Mother Love.

Diana Rigg won the Emmy Award for her role as Danvers in Rebecca in 1997, and the Bafta Special Award for her performance in The Avengers in 2000.
