Father And Child Captured For Cows Stirring In Benue Guarantees That Cows Wrecked Their Farm Produce
Domesticated animals Guards in Benue State have captured a
farmer, Mr. Atsagba Ukua and his child for stirring six cows from herders.
The Unique Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters,
resigned Colonel Paul Hembah who unveiled this on Saturday, while giving
details of incident to jounalists, said the suspects were captured en route to
the cows market in North Bank, Makurdi to sell the stirred cows.
He clarified that upon cross examination by Livestock Guards
who were on routine watch, the suspect said the cows destroyed his homestead
produce and in anger, he brought laws into his hands by appropriating the
animals to sell as remuneration for his harmed farm produce.
As per the Security Adviser, the ranching law of the state
prohibits demonstrations of self help, henceforth the need to give up the
suspects to the Police for arraignment while the stirred cows would be given
over to the initiative of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association for forward
introduction to the proprietor.
